Shawn Usha has over twenty years experience working with learners facing challenges. Finding the best way for learners to solve these challenges has been the consistent focus in all his work. Shawn works with passion and joy and brings a nexus of knowledge, experience, and creativity into finding solutions for each learner.

  • Educational Therapist, Professional
    Provide individual sessions for all ages of learners remediating skills, develop personalized study strategies by building skills with executive functions, work organization and time management, improving reading and writing from core skills to completing complex academic work.

    Complete assessments with cognitive processing and academic testing, setup accommodations, counsel students on study strategies and self-advocacy.     Reading comprehension tutorial program prepared by U.S. Navy. The program incorporated seventeen essential skills for reading comprehension. Material draw from existing training materials, rewritten to specific reading skills levels with accompanying questions and explanations.
  • Workbook Writer “Math Prep I and II,” Dow Chemical and ESL On-Site
    Complete math course covered basic arithmetic to beginning Algebra. Materials included numerous company specific word-problems and group projects. The goal was for line-workers to work as team members with engineering staff.
  • Adult Basic Education Curriculum Alignment Project, Hayward Adult School
    Reviewed and integrated California Adult Basic Education Guidelines and CASAS Work Skill Competencies into a unified system of learning objectives. Learning objectives were linked to workbooks and to an integrated Learning Management and Content system called NovaNET.
